Sure their are apps to allow you to view your Delicious bookmarks, however these apps do not allow you to save Safari bookmarks to your Delicious account. With no cut-and-paste, this can be a problem. No more.

Did you know that if you if double-click the Home button on the bottom-middle of your iPhone it will take you to the Phone Favorites page? This is a fast way to access the phone numbers of people you call frequently.

To set the names in Phone Favorites simply bring up contact names in the Contacts app and choose “Add to Favorites” on the bottom of the Contacts page.

You have the option of changing the action of double-clicking the Home button. Besides taking you to Phone Favorites, you can set it to take you to the iPod app or back to the first Home screen.

This last option is useful if you have several pages of apps and want a quick way to move to the first page. To change the double-clicking action from Phone Favorites choose Settings|Genera|Home Button.

Have you ever found a great website and wanted to email the web address to a friend?

Unfortunately, the iPhone still does not have a basic cut-and-paste feature which makes many basic tasks we take for granted on our Macs and PCs much more difficult than need be. Have you ever found a great website and wanted to email the web address to a friend? Well you can’t simply copy the address and then paste it into an email, but there is another way. Another simple way to do just this.

How to mail link on the iPhone

In Safari you’ll notice a plus sign in bottom bar of your browser. Press this button and a menu will pop up.

The menu allows you to to add the web page to your bookmarks, add an icon for the webpage on your Home Screen or to Mail a Link to this Page. Pressing the Mail Link to this Page will fire up the email app with the URL filled in the body of the email and the subject line will contain the title of the webpage.

Unfortunately, like a computer the iPhone sometimes slowdown, freeze or just need a little kick in the boots to get going again.

We all love our iPhones. These elegant little devices are so much more than just a cell phone. They are full-fledged computers in a small package. Unfortunately, like a computer they sometimes slowdown, freeze or just need a little kick in the boots to get going again. The easiest way to accomplish this is to do what’s called a Soft Reset. Don’t worry, none of your apps or settings will be lost. A Soft Reset will simply clear the iPhone’s memory, reset all of the operating system software routines and allow things to start fresh. Just like we often turn off our Macs or PCs from time to time, it’s often a good idea to do the same with our iPhones.

Soft Reset on the iPhone

To do a Soft Reset simply press and hold the Home button and at the same time press and hold the Sleep button.

A red arrow with the text “slide to power off” will appear. Slide the red arrow to complete the soft-reset.

Hard Reset — Turning the iPhone Off

You can completely power the iPhone down by doing a Hard Reset. Press and hold the Home button and the Sleep button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. None of your apps or settings will be lost. This is a good way to conserve power and also to completely reset the iPhone. This might be necessary if a buggy app crashes.

Note: if you press and hold the Home button, but press and release the Sleep button the iPhone will save a screenshot of your current view. Click here to see a full explanation of how to take a screenshot on the iPhone.

Do you want to save a screenshot from your iPhone for use as wallpaper or perhaps to mail to a friend to brag about how many cool apps you have?

Do you want to save a screenshot from your iPhone for use as wallpaper or perhaps to mail to a friend to brag about how many cool apps you have? I recently learned of a cool trick to do just that. Simply hold down the Home button and then press and release the Sleep button.

If your sound is on you’ll hear a click once the screenshot is saved. The screen will also flash on and off for a brief second. Your screenshot is now saved in the Photos app where you can email it to a friend, use it as wallpaper, transfer it to your Mac, etc.

Note: do not hold down the Sleep button for a prolonged time. Simply press and release it once while holding down the Home button. If you also hold down the Sleep button the iPhone will think that you want to do a soft-reset. Click here for an explanation of the iPhone Soft Reset Tip.

We would love to hear of any other fun tips you have found.

One of the lesser-known goodies included in iPhone 2.0 is the ability to use Wi-Fi while in Airplane Mode. To do this, simply enable Airplane Mode and then switch on Wi-Fi. The orange airplane icon will stay in the status bar and Wi-Fi will be enabled.

Apple says that the feature is good for those on Wi-Fi enabled planes, but it may come in handy if you’re in an area with no cell reception (such as basement or college building).
